2010 DCU Memorial Scholarship for High School SeniorsWith the cost of college education rising, students and parents can use all the help they can get when paying for tuition. DCU's Annual Memorial Scholarship Program can help. We recognize the lifetime value of a college education. The program is designed to assist outstanding students with the cost of their college education.
Each spring, since our program began in 1996, we award scholarships to students who are graduating high school seniors judged most likely to excel at a college or university. There are a total of twenty scholarships.
Five $2,500 Scholarships
Fifteen $1,000 Scholarships
An impartial panel of three college-level instructors and/or admissions officers will judge the students' applications, and select the winners. Judges' decisions are final and are based on the following criteria:
To qualify, students must be a graduating high school senior, plan to attend a state-accredited or nationally accredited two or four-year college or university, and must be a DCU member in good standing.*
Applying is easy! Applications are available beginning in January and are due back to DCU no later than March 12, 2010. Scholarships are awarded each year by the end of May. Information can also be found in the January issue of Members' Monthly and Show Me.
You can download an application here in .pdf format or, you can visit any branch from January 1 through February 26, 2010 to pick up an application.
The Memorial Scholarship Program is in memory of the following members of the DCU family:
Connie Callahan, Sharon Galligan, Alvin R. Hemenway, Brandon Kilgore, Marianne Lloyd-Reidy, Michele R. Marra-Parella Doe, and Robin Harbron Thomas. * DCU employees, volunteers, and their immediate family members are ineligible.
